Dental Insurance | What Is Covered?

Understanding Your Dental Insurance Coverage

Dental insurance can sometimes be difficult to navigate. Policies often vary based on whether they are individually purchased or provided through an employer, and the coverage details can be complex. At Gulati Family Dentistry, we are here to help you understand your plan and make the process as simple as possible, so you can focus on your oral health, not the paperwork.

We accept most major dental insurance plans, including:

  • Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)
  • IFHP (Interim Federal Health Program) for Refugees
  • ODSP (Ontario Disability Support Program)
  • Traditional private and employer-provided insurance plans

We also offer direct insurance billing, which means we can submit claims on your behalf. If you prefer, we can provide all the necessary documentation for you to submit the claims yourself. Either way, we are here to ensure you receive the benefits you’re entitled to.

Helpful Questions About Your Insurance Plan

It’s a good idea to know the details of your insurance coverage before your appointment. This allows us to create a more accurate treatment plan and prevent delays in care. Here are a few common questions we may ask your insurance provider:

  • What treatments are covered under your plan
  • What percentage of each treatment is covered
  • What is your maximum annual coverage
  • Is there a deductible, and if so, how much
  • Are alternative procedures covered under the same treatment category
  • What are the specific details for your recommended treatment

Please note: Insurance companies may not release full policy details to dental offices, even with your written consent. While we will do everything we can to help clarify your benefits, we recommend reviewing your plan or contacting your provider directly for complete information.
